Refund Policy

This policy is a plain-English summary. The binding terms are in our Terms of Service, Sections 5 and 6. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service govern.

Quick reference

Cancellation Any time via your account portal. Access continues through end of paid period.
Partial-month refunds Not issued. No pro-rated refunds when you cancel mid-cycle.
Plan upgrade (mid-month) Stripe charges the pro-rated difference immediately. You are not double-charged.
Plan downgrade Takes effect at your next billing date. No refund for the current period.
Free trial No payment required. Nothing to refund.
Service outage credit Pro-rated account credit if our infrastructure is down >72 consecutive hours.

1. Subscription Payments

Avarus is billed monthly. By subscribing, you authorize Ekstrom Holdings LLC and our payment processor (Stripe) to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis at the rate shown at checkout, until you cancel.

All charges are in U.S. dollars. Subscription fees are non-refundable except as described in Sections 4 and 5 below, or as required by applicable law.

2. Cancellation

You may cancel at any time by visiting Manage Plan inside the Avarus extension (Options tab → Manage Plan) or by emailing support@avarus.app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep full access through the last day you paid for. We do not issue refunds for the remaining days in a cancelled billing period.

3. Plan Changes (Upgrades and Downgrades)

Upgrades (e.g., Basic → Pro) take effect immediately. Stripe automatically calculates the pro-rated price difference for the remaining days in your current billing period and charges only that amount. You are not double-charged for days already paid. Starting from your next billing date, the new plan price applies in full.

Downgrades (e.g., Pro → Basic) take effect at the start of your next billing period. You retain access to the higher-tier features through the end of the current billing period. No refund is issued for the price difference in the current period.

All plan changes are processed through the Stripe billing portal. Stripe's proration calculations are final.

4. Service Outage Credits

If a service outage caused solely by our infrastructure (not by third-party platform changes, including changes to AutoTrader or Facebook Marketplace) lasts more than 72 consecutive hours, you may request a pro-rated account credit for that period by contacting support@avarus.app within 14 days of the outage. Credits are applied to future billing cycles; they are not issued as cash refunds.

Outages caused by third-party platforms (AutoTrader, Facebook, Firebase, Stripe, Anthropic) are outside our control and are not eligible for credits.

5. Termination by Us

If we terminate your account for our convenience (not for breach of our Terms of Service), we will refund any prepaid unused portion of your current subscription period on a pro-rated basis. If we terminate your account for cause (including violation of our Terms of Service, fraudulent activity, or non-payment), no refund will be issued.

6. Free Trial

New accounts receive up to 10 complimentary postings at no charge. No payment method is required to start a trial. There is nothing to refund for trial accounts.

7. Chargebacks

If you believe a charge was made in error, please contact us at support@avarus.app before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. We will work to resolve billing disputes promptly. Initiating an unjustified chargeback may result in suspension of your account.

8. How to Request a Refund or Credit

Email support@avarus.app with your account email address and a description of your request. We respond within 2 business days. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method within 5–10 business days depending on your card issuer.
